COVER ART FOR THE ALT

For the August 2018 issue of The Alt, I created artwork to support their annual Readers’ Poll on the topic of favorite “People & Places” in the Capital Region. This piece was created with watercolor and ink, then edited digitally to optimize the image for newsprint. By placing local architecture in a surrealist amusement park scene, the viewer is invited to enjoy a sense of wonder and excitement about the Capital Region.

Author and illustrator of anywhere, anytime art: colored pencil

In 2017, I worked with Quarto Publishing to writer and illustrate a step-by-step instructional colored pencil book for people of all ages. The book was released in May 2018. Exercises in this book encourage the reader to engage in art practice out and about in the community and provides easy-to-follow instructions on a variety of subjects.
